This page shows you how you will automatically be seated with a partner when replacing a bot. In this example, you and your partner are playing at a private Spades table. Any team game works in a similar way.
1) To set up your private table name, click the Options button:

2) Your Spades Options panel opens. Check the "Private Table" option and click the "(change)" link next to Name. The private table name is set to "none" by default.

3) Change the private table name to whatever you want. You should tell your partner to make the same changes to their options, so they will get seated at your table.

4) Click the OK button to save the changes.

5) The Options panel closes. Click the Spades game panel to go to your table.

6) A message appears next to your seat that reads "Click here to start the game with robots. Humans may replace them later." Click this message, and bots are seated.

7) Immediately after clicking the message, click the Pause Game button in the upper left corner of your table. This stops the game from proceeding.

8) Your friend should now repeat the steps above, taking care to use the exact same private table name. When they click on the Spades game panel, as in step 5), they will be seated across from you as your partner, by default. To restart the game, click the "Continue" button in the upper left corner.
