Rules

We've created a guide explaining how to play Go Fish in detail, so if you're new to the game, we suggest heading over there to get acquainted with the rules. The guide includes an interactive tutorial that will teach you the rules while playing the game. If you're just in need of a quick refresher, look no further.

The objective of Go Fish is to collect the most number of books. A book is a set of 4 cards with the same rank, such as 4 Jacks or 4 Sixes. Players start with 5 cards each (7 in a 2-player game). When it's your turn, you'll ask another player if they have a specific card. If they have cards of that rank, they must hand all of them over to you. And on top of that, you get another turn. If they don't, they'll tell you to "Go Fish!" and you draw a card from the collection of cards in the center, also called the pond. The game ends when any player's hand is empty, and the player with the most books wins.
