Rules

The goal is simple: be the first player to get rid of all your cards! The game uses a standard 52-card deck, with each player receiving 5 cards. The remaining cards form the stock pile, and the top card is turned face up to start the discard pile.
On your turn, you must play a card that matches either the suit or rank of the top card on the discard pile. Can't match? Pick one card from the stock. If that card can be played, you may play it immediately; otherwise, your turn ends. The 8s are special - they're wild cards that can be played on any card! When you play an 8, you get to choose the suit that the next player must follow.
The first player to play all their cards wins the round! Losers receive points: 50 points for each 8, 10 points for face cards, and face value for number cards. The game continues until someone reaches 100 points. When that happens, the match ends and the player with the lowest score wins.

Watch what cards opponents are picking - if someone has been picking heavily, they might be low on certain suits.
Pay attention to which suits are being played frequently. If Hearts keep appearing, opponents likely have many Hearts. When you play an 8, consider calling a suit that hasn't been seen much - this increases the chance that the next player will have to pick.
Playing to Win:
Keep a balanced hand with multiple suits and ranks when possible. This gives you more options and reduces the chance you'll need to pick. If you're down to your last few cards, try to keep cards that match what's recently been played - this increases your chances of being able to play on your next turn.
Watch your opponents' card counts carefully. When someone is down to their last card or two, avoid playing cards that might help them win. If they've been unable to play on certain suits, stick with those suits when possible. Remember, forcing opponents to pick cards not only slows them down but also gives you valuable information about what they don't have!
